Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Detection / Identification of bed bugs
Info re: can bb stay on your body? See signs of bb's but don't actually see the
(3 posts)-
Please help. I am pretty sure (~99%) on circumstantial evidence such a bites, droppings and what look to be casts in my box spring, but not any that I can see in/on my mattress. I also feel like I'm crawling which is probably normal as it's so creepy but today something bit me while I was out and about. Since adult bb's are so large why have I not seen one? Also, could animals bring bb's into the house? Could rodents bring them in? We have have a rodent outbreak recently. Do bb's live in our clothes? Lastly, I live in Hawaii so there are a lot of bugs and all kinds of signs of bus which makes ID'ing these creatures slightly more difficult. The fact remains that all evidence points to bed bugs. Thanks anyone for your help.

If you have bed bugs, it is not unusual to feel a crawling sensation and look and see nothing there. My theory is that this is part of the body's allergic response. Everyone does not experience it but lots of people report it. Do not assume something is actually crawling on you when you feel that way (it helps if you can look).
In addition, bed bugs are designed to bite you without you noticing. If a bite appears suddenly, it does not mean you were just bitten. Most people seem to have a delayed reaction, and bites can appear hours later, days later, or even a week or more later.
Many of us report new bites seeming to appear when heat is applied (after taking a shower, sweating, being in a hot location, etc.).
If you have not found visual evidence of bed bugs yet, monitors may help. You can find FAQs about various monitors linked from the Useful Stuff page.

Thanks anyone for your help. Can you post some photos of the droppings / cast skins you've found on a public photo site (eg, photobucket) and post a link in a response to this thread? It may very well turn out that it's really the 1% and you don't have bed bugs
