~Infants and toddlers while fighting BB~
(9 posts)-
OK so I decided to start this thread cause I know with the title a lot of others are curious!! I am tired of everyone telling me that I have to use my baby as LIVE BAIT and to just throw her to the wolves to be devour!!! What can we as Parents use that is safe for our infants and toddlers until the PCO can come down and treat!! Liftup’s can be poisons to the child so we can rule that out!! So all of you who are old timers, host, and PCO”S what the HELL can I use to keep my baby safe from BEG BUGS until the PCO can come out an treat!!!!

You could read the FAQ on isolating the bed and modify that protocol for the young children's cribs/beds/bassinets.
Successful isolation of the children's sleeping space would prevent them from being bitten until the PCO can come out and treat.
In addition, both Vikane and thermal are options that, if done properly, generally kill all the bugs in one treatment and do not leave residual chemicals behind. As a result, you would only need to protect the kids to keep them bite free until after either of those treatments. Once completely, you and your family shouldn't be experiencing any additional bites.

What is a "liftup"? Bed risers?
Get some climbup monitors, tear the bed apart to ensure it is bug free, then place in the climbups to capture bugs that attempt to get to him.BBs can't swim. Buggy mentioned isolating the bed and really thats the only thing you can do to protect the child.
Your enemy is a relentless pest that has no other food source than mammals. They will seek you out and cutting off access to the child is the only option.

trust me I would rather them come after me!!im a big girl i can defend mysefl against a BB MABYE, but the question I fell did not relly get answered!! So here it is in another form!! If I put water in the climb up can the BB swim over to the post and climb up!!Or will he drown immeditally!!
-
Oh yea i have already tore the bed apart and wiped down w/ rubbing alchol !!but I can only find 51% rubbing alchol will this work!!
-
51% is not going to cut it.
The cimbups are intended to be used with a powder so the bugs climb in but can't climb out and into the inner ring where the bed leg is.
The bugs just wander confused and aren't panicked.
Mineral oil would be better than water. If the bugs recognize they have no path they will seek another route. Climbups with powder fool them and they get trapped.
