I've noticed half a dozen red bumps on my skin over the last couple of weeks. Today, I noticed 2 on my left thigh that I'm pretty sure weren't there yesterday.

I keep glue traps around my bed posts because I've had some brown recluse spiders in the apartment before. I checked the glue traps and found some tiny (1-1.5mm) bugs. I tried my best take a picture, but it is hard to get a good one. These were mostly located on the side of the glue trap closest to my bed post.

these are probably the best 2 pictures

Nothing bed bug related. Looks like you have Psocids and maybe another little critter I can't make out.

100% sure nothing is bed bug related.

any thoughts as to why they would be coming from my bed?

I'm sure they are just foraging for food. They eat fungi and they are attracted to moisture.

would glue traps by the bed posts be likely to catch bed bugs?

You can get lucky catching them on a glue monitor. Size of infestation would also be a factor. You can use them to monitor ( new ones) but don't bet the farm.

I took my bed completely part last night and found no sign of them. My bed is just a metal frame, box springs, and mattress. No headboard.
I went along the seams and creases in the mattress and box springs, didn't see anything close to a blood stain or bug.

    Any thoughts?
I'm considering having an exterminator come inspect Monday and/or buying a Bedbug Beacon CO2 Active Monitor.
I live in an apartment, by the way.

If you've found no signs yet, don't waste money on stuff you don't need. Just keep inspecting.
