I'm moving in with a friend but I have no idea how to make sure I'm not bugged

My clothes should be fine because they are all bagged. However I want to bring my Computer/Monitor with me. Looking inside my PC I see nothing, and believe it is ok. However I can't really look inside my monitor. What can I make sure these two are completely harmless?

Visual inspections are unreliable. Treat with heat (in a Packtite) or with DDVP strips (with some minor risk of damaging the electronics). Search the board for info on DDVP and Packtite if you don't know what those are.
