   Senior member in the house! Woo hoo! I'm so excited I have no idea why, it's kind of silly! I'm moving up in the (bed bug) world!

   But...

   Nobugs, may I express a preference never to become a "senior member"? And especially not an "old timer"? I don't know if I'm in danger of that but I've already posted more times than Jenn28 (but haven't been posting as long) so eventually I might be due to graduate. So in that event please keep me a plain ordinary "member". Or maybe advance me to be a "long-time member" or "long-timer" and then maybe after that "veteran commentator" or something of that nature.

   Hi jrbtnyc,

   The titles are based on a threshold of both number of posts AND length of participation.

   It happens automatically.

   The titles can be helpful to newcomers in terms of getting a sense of who we all are.

   There is no automatic correspondence between being here longer, posting more times, and knowing more about bed bugs. Some newbites are experts and lots of old timers are not.

   If/when you are assigned your title, then you can email me to discuss assigning you a different title manually, but I'm not sure I follow the reason why.
