Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Introductions
If Red Cross wont take my blood these vampires certainly will.
(1 post)-
Well I am new to bedgugger! From Vancouver (shock) B.C. up in the Great North of Canada.
I made a positive i.d. on Monday. My land lady dropped off the list of things I need to do between now and pest control showing up on next Monday.
Mildly frustrated it apparently takes a week to get them in.
I am however very glad that my land lady is taking it seriously. Even if she did try to blame me for them (I have lived in this building for 6 months now and this is the first problem I've had...). I check my mattress every 3 weeks or so because I know there is a problem in the city with bed bugs. I haven't travelled. 2 weeks ago I was fine (my best friend had scabies and I tore the place apart just in case when random bumps started showing up on her after she spent the night) and there was nothing. Not one spec of blood. Not one little bug. Nothing in my bed frame, drawers, sofa... nada. Come back after house sitting for two weeks (also checked there for bugs) and immediately get bitten and have an early evening visitor on my pillow. I didn't even bring a suit case back from house sitting (long story involving an angry diabetic cat... and a whole lot of urine... and the inability to get the smell out with ANYTHING).
So we had a conversation about how paranoid I was about bed bugs. About how they can come in from other units and about how just because I was the first one to report them to her it did not mean I was the one who brought them in. The closest she got to an apology was to say that "She wasn't trying to say I did it on purpose" and that it was just it's a very "clean" building. Mildly amused now because she wont even come into my suite. I got my instructions slipped under my door.
Nothing wakes you up at two am like blearily opening up my eyes and seeing a bed bug right in front of it (literally).
Right now I'm praying that I don't have to get rid of my sofa / mattress and bed frame. I will deal if I have to (probably by getting an air mattress until I feel sure that it wont happen again / move out which will do havock with my Lupus / Arthritis (Why the red cross wont take my blood)).
Minus the immediate freak out when I phoned my best friend. Over all I'm dealing.
On a break at work I'm gonna call the PCO and find out if they want my books left out or not since that wasn't in the instructions.
