Idea for PCOs
(6 posts)-
So, since a good number of us can't afford the expensive treatments for bed bugs, I was thinking PCOs could come up with its equivalent of a Medical Insurance, for pests. People'd pay a monthly fee, and if they ever have a pest problem (whatever the pest may be), they can go to their PCO and be treated, for 'free' or a co-pay. I'd pay for it.

1 - any potential client needs to be BB free PRIOR to plan can be issued/purchased (just like medical excludes existing conditions) - which means you still have to spend the money up front if you are suffering now
2 - how do you make sure that insured aren't being proactive in preventing further introductions @ home, @ work, @ gym, @ anywhere because they are thinking "I am covered" and it "doesn't cost me anything to get it fixed"?
3 - what kind of deductible would be fair?
4 - How do you determine rates? SFR vs Multi-Unit Apt/Condo vs Office Bldg vs Shelter vs Medical/Assisted Living etc etc etc...Id love to hear what others are thinking about this topic? Thanks for bringing it up.

There is currently bed bug insurance for hotels and for individual travelers. (Here are some posts.)

Well, I can't quite keep up with it all...

Rad. I'll sure get one when I have a place of my own again. Hopefully by then more companies will join, too. Thanks, Nobugs!
