ID Please [a: NOT bed bug; possibly cockroach nymph]
(5 posts)-
Yes, I am absolutely, positively crazy. I just now found this bug in the storage room below our bedroom. It was dead, lying on a chest of drawers. At first I said, "No, this is not a bed bug because it looks slightly different the other bed bugs we had identified." Then I looked again and thought, yes this is a bed bug. While handling it the antennae broke off and a leg broke off too (they are in the photos though). It looks like its head is tucked under.

Perhaps someone can confirm my fears or put my mind at ease.
Heat treatment entire house 4/23
Chemical to bedroom 4/30 and 5/8
K9 cleared house except for bedroom on 5/8 (could not check bedroom because of chemicals)
K9 cleared entire house 6/7Should I be worried?
Thanks in advance!

It's 100% not a bed bug. I think that it's a roach though I'm not an expert so don't take that to the bank.

While I'd prefer a better photo, this appears to be a nymphal cockroach and I am 96.73% sure this is NOT a bed bug.
Perhaps send another photo of the top side a tad more enlarged or some additional views.
Hope this helps ! paul b.

Thank you both soooo much! I am an absolute mess since the bed bugs came home with me. I'll take the 96.73% although tonight while I'm lying in bed that 3.27% will be keeping me awake (I am INSANE). I really don't know what I'd do without this site and all the helpful people. I don't know any other place that would ID a bug for me on a Friday night during happy hour. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
And thanks to Nobugsonme for keeping this site going!

Ooops ! I mistyped what I intended to state ! ! !
I am 100% certain it is NOT a bed bug so, rest easy tonight.
I am 96.73 % certain that it may be a certain species of nymphal cockroach but I need a better photo to be able to tell which specific la cuckaracha it is to be 100% of same.
As such, please divert the remaining 3.27% confidence points to either the NOT bed bug category or the just curious which type of roach it is category and i think we're all cool now.
Hope this helps ! paul b.
