IBM Pest Control - San Francisco?
(2 posts)-
ouch! They got us...its three months after a trip and here they are biting away. Me, I'm terribly allergic, asthma, skin reactions and all. Ditto the cat (at least the skin reactions, sneezing and cough). My partner? Just a bit of itching, almost nothing. We're at the beginning of the infestation as I've not seen that many and the biting seems to have occurred only the last three weeks with reactions becoming intolerable three days ago. I called an IPM company - Pestec the day I realized what was going on and lifted the mattress and found one fat one and a few smaller oneson the floor by the headboard. There are a few in the kitchen that look different, black and hang out during the daytime in public. I could have two different types of bug infestations going. Then in the living room off the kitchen there are more bugs that look like the bedroom ones. They're in between and below the sofa cushions and there's a blood stain on the couch from when one of us sleeps out there with the cat.
I've trapped two - one from the kitchen and one from the sofa and double bagged each one separately in baggies and labeled where they came from. Creeps me out!
Has anyone had any dealings with Pestec in SF? They've been in the media a lot and seem to have green practices (bedbug dog detection, heating, steam, avoiding pesticides unless necessary and then only using the least harmful when starting down that road). Any other recommendations for or experiences (good and bad) with IPM companies in San Francisco?
By the way, I'm new here...and I'm BugZapped and exhausted and fed up already with these critters. I've been lurking for three days now here and reading everything I can to get up to speed. Thanks for a wonderful site and forum. Its been a big help and, even though I obviously don't want to be here, I'm glad to be part of what seems to be, for the most part, a decent, caring community.

Sorry. I meant IPM, not IBM in my post's title.
