Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » How bed bugs are changing the world
I was on the radio!
(5 posts)-
But I sort of blew my big chance. Chicago's ABC talk radio channel was doing a bed bug bit in response to last night's ABC story (which I missed). I called up expecting not to get through, but I did & they put me on right away. It was all so fast I didn't get a chance to think about what I was saying. Probably the only useful thing that came out of mouth was that they travel between units in apartment buildings and that by the time I had them most of the building was infested. I also mentioned having to move away in the end, but I said nothing of all the work, stress, sleeplessness or having to get rid of most of my things :( . Two callers later & the guy was saying that he doesn't wash his sheets & that caused the problem(grrr). I was kicking myself for not dispelling the dirty myth fist & foremost. Oh well, if it comes up again maybe I will do better.

Good for you bugbattler! At least you got some of the messages out there!
It's so weird that the dirty myth continues. Every fact sheet and website reiterates its not about cleanliness and yet it persists.
So you live in Chicago ... if only we could get Oprah to do a show on BBs!

Wow, good for you! And I'm with you guys, the dirty myth thing is so frustrating. How I hate that myth  Anywhoo, so glad you got some correct advice out there!

Thanks guys! Our treasurer was on right after the BB piece & he mentioned waking up w/ bites after staying in a hotel. Maybe that will pique Oprah's interest (fingers crossed). I hope for his sake he didn't bring them home, but if he did maybe as treasurer he will have some grasp of how much of a financial burdon this is for ppl and that something needs to be done.
