I Live in an Apartment building and we have Bedbugs!!!!

   [b]I live in Jackson Heights, Queens and we have bedbugs in our apartment building. I have been trying to get ride off them but they always come back, at night I just can not sleep cause I feel like there is one of them on my bed. What ever itch I feel I think is one of them. Management does not want to spend money to fix the problem. Is there any legal action in NY we can get that will make them fix the bedbug problem we have in the building?.

   If you think you have a case perhaps seek legal advice locally. There is an atty in NYC that handles BB cases. I think his name is Marc Miner.

   If you are renting and have reported bed bugs to management and they have not responded, in NYC, you should call 311 to report the problem. The city should send an inspector to your apartment who will look for live bed bugs.

   If the city confirms the problem and files a violation, the landlord will have responsibilities both in treating your unit and inspecting attached ones and treating them
   if needed.
