LOL ... wow, that's one the best questios ever asked.

I don't have any great ideas (everything that comes to mind would kill it too quickly). What about second-hand smoke? Or make it listen to Paris Hilton's CD?

I say alternately heat up and cool the jar to bring it to the point of death and noway's idea is good too but as for myself I can't resist just squashing the hell out of any bb I see....

I had one too but it died after around two weeks- I am assuming from asphyxiation. I had planned to conduct various experiments to verify to what extent they are actually impeded by sticky tape.

The bedbug has nothing against you. It's a simple creature that needs to eat, and does so relatively quietly and conservatively...takes only what it needs, when it needs it, then goes home. About half of people would not realize this is going on if they did not see the bugs. Perhaps one day, humankind might even find that bedbugs hold the secret to some medical or other benefit. So, kill, eradicate, prevent, donate to science, but why torture?

OTOH, you could place the jar on your coffee table and make it watch "Jon & Kate".

Waterboard it and make it tell you where its friends are.

It's still alive. I've been taking the lid off to let air in every day.

So I guess it's a pet now. Except there is NO WAY I am going to feed it.
