So in today's era of mass unemployment, bad economy, and yes...surge in bed bugs....I had the thoughts of starting a company (because Im unemployed) that specializes in just bed bug control/extermination.

Ive read various ways PCO's treat for bed bugs, but the prep work is usually a huge hassle for the homeowner/renter to do....I know, Im doing it now! So why not an all inclusive service?

Sorry I might seem scattered here. Part of the service I would offer would be a large room or portable trailer that could be heated to 150F-200F...or whatever it takes. In this room you could place mattresses, furniture, etc. The idea would be for the "techs" to go to the home, and either steam clean the furniture at the location, bag it, or both, and quickly bring it back to the facility or into the portable unit. The unit would dry/heat the items for several hours while still bagged, and then delivered back to the residence. This could be done with clothing too as long as there isnt worry for heat damage. While the furniture and stuff is out being treated, either a contracted PCO, or the company if trained & licensed, would go in and treat the home. This way the entire home would be clutter free and easier to treat. Im talking beds, dressers, couches, arm chairs, night stands, etc....anything that could resist heat up to 120-140 degrees.

Basically what Im saying is listerally take everything in the house, bag em, put it into some sort of very large heating chamber for treatment. Think of how many mattresses you could treat in just a 10x10 room. Basically like a huge packtite.

You would use more than one truck for transport, you would have a "dirty" truck and a "clean" truck to decrease risk of reinfestation.

Course I dont really know if it would be cost effective or cost prohibitive.

I know I wish I could do that right now, just take everything out of the house, put it in a huge kilm and cook it all....my wife and I had a laugh saying...it would be just about easier to just burn the house down with everything in it if we wouldnt go to jail for arson or insurance fraud lol.

Here in California it take a lot of stuff before you can open a pest control business.

The licensing is multilevel before you can open your own shop.

Look into your state regs and see what it entails.
