Just wanted to share some thoughts on things that I am grateful for when it comes to bed bugs.

First and foremost..I'm grateful the bugs are gone! ;)
I am grateful I have an extremely supportive family that loves me
I am grateful for the abundance of continuing information and support on this site.
I am grateful that though bed bugs are spreading, more and more PCO companies are getting on board with this pest and getting their act together.
I am grateful for government levels starting to open their eyes on bed bugs
I am grateful for the many new and better ways irradiate bed bugs. (more IPM, thermal, vikane etc..) all this was a pipe dream just two years ago.
I am grateful for all the new and upcoming tools to assist in the fight and prevent of bed bugs that was non existent two years ago.(types of monitor devices, detection tools, k9's, and the Packtite!) I remember all too well hearing nightmare stories of people baking nearly anything they could in their oven, soaking their clothes in Kleenfree before leaving the house, people tossing memorabilia, renting PODS, buying deep freezers to store luggage after a trip! To all you true entrepreneurs out there I say good work and keep it up!

Well, these are just a few things that come to mind right now. I have more...and hope those who have gone through bed bugs or are going through an infestation can find things to be grateful for to add to this list.

Nice post, it's very important to think about being grateful, lifts the spirits for sure. Too much about these bugs is upsetting.
I am grateful that Bed Bugs only have one food source, so I know what they want and where they're headed!

    Good post...
I think a government response to this emerging problem is crucial. It spans between health and safety to homeland security, IMHO.

Unfortunately the only way for any govt level to really move is by us the public writing a complaint to them about the issue, your experience, and how bad the spread you believe bed bugs may be at this point.

Bottom line is The more complaints = more action from them. I suggest anyone and everyone to write your local, county and state govt councilperson in regards to the bed bug issue. In fact writing them quarterly wouldn't hurt either. Finally the EPA has stepped in a little, but I feel much more needs to be done to get the word out for public awareness.

    Okay, back to topic

I am grateful to finally have the courage to have a 2nd plate date for my daughter here at our home today after our infestation! It was a bit scary but so nice to hear the children laugh/play and feet running through the house. :-o

    Go Paula!

I am really grateful you're here with us, helping others!

For the advances that are being made -- we do have so many more options (from Vikaning trucks, to thermal -- even in apartments, to Packtites and new monitoring tools).

For the researchers who are increasing the knowledge base about bed bugs, and making advances possible.

For everyone who shares their knowledge and support with others here.

And for everyone who writes letters to government representatives demanding action on bed bugs.

Thank you. Bigger steps and so far way worth it! Celebrating Mother's Day here too! Whoo call me the party animal! lol..it's very nice to have 3 generations of mommies in the house again. :)

And thank you for your endless hours of dedication to this incredible site. I can't imagine what it must have been like just 3-4 yrs ago and dealing with bed bugs when this site wasn't here and no one had a clue what to do.

I am grateful that I "THINK" our problems are over... and even if they're not I know they will be soon and we'll stop at nothing to make sure were bug free.

I'm grateful for sleeping back in bed with my husband after sleeping on an air matress for 3 months (PREGNANT!) - I feel comfortable in my bed again and its nice to put my house back together a bit.

I'm grateful for this site and all of you wonderful people for your advice and just knowing I wasnt alone!

I'm grateful that we were able to afford treatments - I know not everyone can afford to hire a PCO.

I'm grateful that I learned a great deal about taking life, my home and the day to day up's and downs for granted. Living thru Bed Bugs has really made me appreciate so much more. People take their homes and beds for granted - until you have shared them with scary/nasty bugs you just dont know!

    Good Post Paula!
