I cannot sleep. My 17 year old son discovered bed bugs in his bedroom about a week ago. I had woken up with a very itchy welt on the 6th of this month and my son pulled out from my thigh what he thought was a small tick. I had been in the woods on the 4th on my way to the fireworks so figured it was a tick. Now I am certain it was not. It was extremely itchy for 2 weeks and now I have a scar. Anyhow, my husband lifted my son's mattress and box spring and all I heard from the bed room was Oh My God!!!! His bed is absolutely infested. I have taken out my scunci steamer and carpet steamer and well ya know. I am washing every single item of clothing that I have deemed as a keeper , just finished taping around my mattress for the upteenth time, Oh and drove up over a curb along the sidewalk and back down without even realizing what was happening until I was returning to the road because I HAVE NOT SLEPT IN A WEEK!!!!!

Terminex is coming out to steam the beds and spray around my house. Has anyone else used Terminex and have you had any success? I wanted it sprayed right away but need to wash everything and de-clutter the house. What can I do in the mean time to stop them from spreading. Right now my 17 year old and 4 year old are sleeping in my bed room because we have not found any in there yet, but I am positive they are there probably little tiny ones that I cannot see yet. I will not sit on any furniture except a wood chair in my kitchen. Oh and My husband bought me a 15X15 tent for Christmas because I said I wanted to try out camping. Yes a 15x15 tent for someone who hasn't been camping in 25 years. Anyhow, my son will be setting in up in our tiny back yard tommorrow so we can get some sleep. Can't wait until the neighbors see this one!!!

Actually, sleeping outside that infested bedroom could spread them, because they will come in search of you guys and your blood. Someone should really be sleeping in there so that the remaining bugs don't go elsewhere to search for food. Sad to say.

There's a FAQ on this site that tells you what to do and not to do if you have bedbugs. It'd be good for you to read it.

    Good luck, it sounds awful.
