Since I'm already "here," this question is somewhat moot, but the only way I know is from the Home Page, clicking on "Get Advice" and then clicking on the link in that paragraph that says "Forums." Is there a less hokey way? (I am obviously blog-imparied). Could a link that said "Forums" be on the top line of the home page, or maybe I'm missing the easy way in? The forums are a great way to allow the back and forth topic discussions stay focused and in one organized place.

There's a blue button with a picture of a bug on it, on the top right corner of the sidebar, over the links, on every page of the blog and faqs.

Have a look and see if you see it.

Similarly, you can go from the forums to the blog or faqs using similar buttons at the bottom of the forum pages (scroll down). I am working on a sidebar for the forums, but it is not within my current skill set!

Thanks. How could I miss that blue bedbug? Now I know the easy way to get to the Forums!

I also had to look real hard for the Forum link. All the other links are just text links and you don't expect a picture to be a link (even if it has the text on it).

Tip for webdesign, people first look at the top, then to the left, go through the middle to the right and then to the bottom.

Nobugsonme, can you also make a textlink at the top?
    Thanks

Yes, I will. This is a temporary site design actually, since our previous template suddenly started looking very wrong on internet explorer. Since a lot of people have questions, I can't quite keep up with that as well as the design. But it's a work in progress and I appreciate your feedback. Travelbug, it sounds like two sidebars on the right is a poor design?

    nobugsonme about the two sidebars:
It's not the first place people are looking but people who visit the site often get used to it and will know where to find their information. To put it in IT terms, no must have, no should have but a nice to have. Forget it if their is more important work.

Thanks travelbug-- we're in transition since moving to our own hosting service, but in time, I will work on the layout. It's very different from our original "feel" so I've had some other critiques. I think you're right about the eye-movement and I will work on that one too.

Confession. I'm so hooked on this forum, I need to hold myself back from typing it s URL every time I open a browser.

If nobugs knew how often I lurked without posting, she would call me in for therapy, where I would probably be in a group session with the usual suspects sitting around a coffe table with Cilecto, spider, d Cain, kq, effeci, and lately the guy who wants to tape everything :). If I left your name out and you are lurking at the site again you are invited as well.

Ok you got me. I do often forget to log out but equally as often don't log in, so my Bedbugger habit's probably worse than my stats. Lurked for years before I ever registered too. Only have to type "b" & my browser auto-completes the forum url & my browser history looks like I'm researching a book on Cimex lectularius. Then there's the bed bug pdf hoard...

I never wanted to know as much as I do about these horrid little beasts.

If you save bedbugger as one of the home tabs in your browser, it will open automatically.

I try to do my BB surfing in "in private" aka "pr0n" mode, so as not to freak out Mrs. Lecto.
