I went shopping in a thrift store tonight (I know it's chancy; but it's cheap; only bought clothes I can wash and dry). Was in the store ~ 2 hours.

Coming home--I felt my butt itching slightly. Then more--enough for me to notice. Felt a small welt on my butt -- looked in the mirror when I got home and it's a dark spot. (hard to see your own butt)

Can I get bitten that quickly?

If there were bugs in the clothes (?) or on the floor where I had to store my bag (behind the counter), could I feel bites an hour later??

(I've bagged all clothes, including the ones I was wearing, in clear plastic bags, and I took a shower. Treatment isn't my question--the bite is what I'm concerned about)

Unless you came home naked without your bag, I'd be slightly concerned, cautious about having brought them in. Not trying to be alarmist, just be super alert and make sure you isolated your bag and inspected it too, not just the clothes.

Yes-- bite reactions totally vary. You could feel it an hour later, 18 hours later, 9 days later, or NEVER. Some people -- some say most -- don't react at all.
