How do you isolate a bed?(8 posts)
Can someone please explain to me how I can isolate beds. What do you have to do? I also have a baby in a crib who is bitten, can I isolate a crib?
The instructions are in the FAQ. Just click the button on the left-hand side of your screen. You will see a list of FAQ's, and click on the one that says "Getting bed bugs our of your bed (and keeping them out)". Next, click on the FAQ that reads "How do I protect my bed from bed bugs?..." This page has instructions that you can follow.
Best of luck,

Thankyou. I am not so good with knowing my way round web sites. Have read the information and found it very helpful. Can't afford mattress encasement though sadly.
Do you rent or own your home?
I'm a renter, and my landlord is buying encasements for both my and my daughter's beds.
I do rent my house, I have been trying to deal with this on my own. I have told my landlord who said he would ring back but I never heard from him. I am in the U.K. pretty much bed bugs unheard of and landlords not so sympathetic.
Sorry to hear that. I suppose I had the "advantage" that I am the third tenant to get BBs, therefore the landlord has realized this is a big problem. I'm getting professional help from a top company, and the encasements.
I still don't think you should be trying to deal with this on your own. I realize the landlord hasn't rung you back, but maybe try again? You may need to educate him a little.
Gosh Sue, how are you dealing with this on your own? Have you been treating the house with any pesticides?
My heart goes out to you...
I am a single parent, been left with four children and very limited income. I have bought some permethrin based powder and spray and tried that. my local council have sprayed some stuff, but they will only come out once and it hasn't helped. Not coping terribly well, feeling a bit desperate and bad tempered!
Sue, sounds like you already had your hands full. I'm a single mom also (though my daughter is all grown up now - 25!). Just remember that you're not alone. We're all here to help you, so no need to feel desperate or alone.
Is it worth trying to see if the council can purchase some encasements? I think you're next plan of attack should be trying different avenues to see what help you can get.
