    Hey all,

I discovered my infestation last Friday, and since then, my apartment has been treated by a PCO, I've thrown out all of the furniture that was in my bedroom, and I've washed and bagged all of my clothes, bringing a bag of triple-washed clothes to my parents' house, where I'm currently camping out. I'm starting to feel a LOT better, but I can't banish my stress completely because I'm worried that I may have brought something to work before I realized I had bedbugs. (My PCO said he thought my infestation was small and young, but that I'd probably had it for a month, maybe two.) What I'm wondering (and I know there's no concrete, easy answer to this) is how large an infestation needs to become in order for the bringing-bugs-to-work concern to be something to really, really worry about.

To expand: I know there's ALWAYS a risk, however small, that you can bring a bug from an infestation of ANY size to ANYwhere else. And I've read about the office horror stories, but with a lot of them, either there was an employee with a huge infestation, with bugs crawling all over their house, or there was a box or a bag brought from an infested house into the workplace. When I asked my PCO about what to do about my workplace, he said there shouldn't be any problems, but of course, I'm freaking out anyway because of all the horrible things I'm reading. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

If it helps. I had the bugs for months without knowing it, and I never brought them to work. My infestation, since it stayed mostly undisturbed, seems to have stayed mostly in my bedroom. My work stuff very seldom ends up in my bedroom, although from time to time, books make the migration. But I certainly (in the months I didn't know I had them) didn't follow the protocols about shoes and clothes that you're supposed to follow, and those were in my bedroom.

I don't know if that helps or not, but I can tell you that I haven't heard many stories here about people who brought them to work. I've more often heard about people who brought them home from work.
