    Hi all,

I just re-read what I posted and realized I barely even asked the question I meant to. I'm wondering if it's possible to estimate how big an infestation is, or how long the bedbugs have been infesting, based on the physical evidence on the exterior of mattresses. In other words, does a mattress with fewer waste stains and bug shells/"husks"/eggs mean the bugs were there for less time, or the infestation size is smaller than, a mattress with lots of stains and eggs?

I think I've had bites (visibly) for just under a week. I didn't know what they were when I first notice small rashes/spots appearing. When I saw a bug scurry across my comforter on Friday morning, it all clicked.

I've sealed my mattress up and disposed (carefully) of the box spring and frame, so I'm wondering how much of the total infestation I might have gotten under control with that, versus how many more bedbugs I have waiting for me.

I've loved all of the great info I've found on this site; hope all is well with everyone, bedbugs are a challenge and it's great to know there are others dealing with these aggravations!
