First I want to thank everyone here, reading a learning from everyone has been so helpful.

Due to my profession I will sometimes meet a family at their home.
I have always taken precautions in the past, (sitting on kitchen chairs, only taking one book in, looking for signs and visual inspection before getting into my car)

We are not required to go into a home with an active infestation, however, as we know, sometimes people do not know they have a probelm or are reluctan to share the information.

This is difficult as I know other precautions I could take, but don't know how to implement them....
I can't change behind my car (as I have heard some pco's share) as they are obviously male
I am a social worker, so the familes feelings need to be taken into account....
walking in with white coveralls on, would not go over well
