We have this small hole in the mattress. Is it possible that the bed bugs (if we have them) are hiding inside the mattress? And this could be the reason why we havent found any evidence? It has been nearly 4 months since i think we could have been exposed to bed bugs.

    That's not a realistic concern.

The hole could be of any reason. If you suspect that it is due to bed bugs, then vacuum your bed and the surrounding areas. Properly clean linens, curtains, and clothing in hot water. And I would recommend to get your mattress changed, because till the hole persists, there is a chance of bed bugs or any other type of insect to have its colony over there. A few days ago, I heard my friend speaking about latex mattress Miami. You could look for them and if suitable get yourself one.

You don't have to replace the mattress, just get a good encasement.

    I am NOT an expert.
My opinions are just opinions, they may NOT apply to yours or any situation.
My advice is to always do a LOT of research.
A lot of what I read contradicts other stuff on the Interweb.
