Hey there! I've been lurking since I figured out what was happening (late August). I believe we've had the bugs since May, but I didn't know the signs or even really think that having bedbugs was possible.

Now that I know better I have reason to believe that my entire 12 unit apartment building is infested & maybe even the whole stinkin' neighborhood (everybody loves a free dumpster couch) - fun!

This site has been indespensable & I have been crying and laughing silently along with you guys for a few weeks. I thank you :)

hey bugbattler, just saying hi. nice post. it's a real pain in the ass reason that brings everybody here... so i won't say "welcome" but hang in there and good luck. :)

and yes, there always seems to be a good laugh found here somewhere, and when you feel like crying it's a good place to do that too.

    Hey Bugbattler,
Did you ever get rid of your bugs? I'm in the middle of the melee and looking for some light at the end of the tunnel that's not an oncoming train.
    Thanks,
    TB

    Hi stricken,

You can click the title (in bugbattler's case it's "senior member") under their name next to their post and see the last time they logged in.

In bugbattler's case, it's a month or so, so they are not likely to see a post like this.

For success stories, you might find encouragement here.

No worries! Remember, if you want to see your old contributions, click the word "newbite" (member, junior member, old timer, etc.) under your name above and you will see a profile page with all your old posts listed.

You can also "subscribe" to threads you want to watch, then either get an email when someone posts OR no email (but the subscriptions are linked to from your profile).

Hi guys :D I still lurk on occasion to see if there are any questions I have an answer for (mostly I don't have any good answers - lol)

Hi stricken. I wish you all the luck w. your battle. I have been bb free since late November, but I still get nervous calling it officially. Just saying that will make me itch for days - lol Maybe I'll stick with saying bite-free/ sign free.

There are many way better success stories than mine. Mine is on the board under success stories titled: Pre-sucess story and recap. I have a terrible patience problem (and also suffered from a terrible property mgm't company - not to mention lasseiz faire neighbors) so I cut & ran. I have few regrets though. My biggest regret is not getting regulatory agencies officially involved early on. The best advice I can give anyone going through this in a rental property is to document, document, document & get the city to document too.

Also so far as hope goes I can officially tell you that there is life after BBs. I visit libraries now, reactivated my netflix, I go whole entire days without crying, I focus on my work & hobbies again. I haven't visited a hotel yet (that will be a HUGE step), but I'm trying to plan a trip & am looking forward to finding out that it will all be okay (I hope) :D

    My best to you.

Thank you Bugbattler! I just saw this post, it is great to know there's life after BBs since I barely remember life before them. It's sort of an invisible enemy.
