hello again, everybody! I used to be a regular around here and then I got rid of my bed bugs and slacked off bedbugger because I'm trying to achieve goals in life. I may be around more soon because I'm about to get bed bugs again.

For those of you who don't know me, the stich is, my building has had them for years but my neighbors refuse to organize. We just keep treating our own apartments and the bedbugs seem to run away to another apartment to another over and over, everytime we treat our own apartments.

I know, we should get organized. I have tried, I really have. Maybe this time will be different. But everything's up in the air right now. I don't currently, as far as I can tell, have any bugs in my house. But my neighbor directly above me just called to tell me he go them. Later he discovered that it was a few days after the apartment above him sprayed without telling anyone else.

so I see the writing on the wall and I'm starting to re-pack my house. It's ridiculous. I'm scared to move because so many other apartments in nyc have them anyway, so moving doesn't seem to be the answer. I still have rooms I haven't caulked, etc. And what about life outside of bed bug protocol?

Well, I'm counting my blessings. I've had more than a year of bed bug-free life. It is such a luxury to come home and just throw my clothes and purse on a table without sealing them in a ziploc first. Sitting on the bed to put on my socks. Deciding in the morning to grab a book off the shelf and chuck it in my bag to read on the train without worrying it might be spreading vermin. So many wonderful care-free days. How I will miss them.

Gosh mangycur, your descriptions of a "carefree life" in your house is so on the mark! Right, it's the simple things like just grabbing a book, or setting something out that's not in a sealed bag. What a bizarre version of reality bed bugs create. Your resolve is truly inspirational!

I'm hoping that you will escape a new infestation.

hello to all who replied. I hope I don't get them again either, but even if I don't, I'm already starting the plastic bag routine . . . a drag and a half.
