I received my PuraCleenRx bed bug kit about 1 month ago. I was horrified and pleased to find 3 live bed bugs in the bottom of a tall mug. I sprayed 2 with the Puracleen spray and they were dead within about a half hour. The other one got a dusting with the diatomaceous earth. It lived for a few days. I was hopeful that this was a good sign. I treated every crack and crevice, every piece of furniture and bedding. Did another couple hundred dollars worth of laundry. Thought all was safe.
Found 2 live random bugs today, one on my coffee table next to my couch and one on the outside of my laundry bag in my bedroom. I haven't gotten any new bites in about 2 weeks so this sighting is really distressful. Is this stuff not really working or am I missing some key piece of info on how to get rid of these vampires or where to look for them? Thus far I haven't found any nests. Just random ones in a couch leg, bed seam and computer bag.
I know it may be time to get a professional in but it is well beyond my budget for a long time to come so I am trying to do what I can. Any suggestions for further self treatment would be so greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to a night when I can fully sleep all the way through!!

    lildegrl,

I do not know about PuraCleenRX.

I hate to ask but did you ever have your bed bugs identified by a professional? It is not completely unheard of, but finding them in a mug is pretty unusual.

Finding so many bed bugs in a short space of time is a bad sign. I would get professional help.

We have a FAQ which explains why doing your own pest control is not a great idea. I know treatment is expensive. Do you have a landlord? Depending on laws where you live and the circumstances, it may be their responsibility to pay.
