help with bug ID?
(5 posts)-
Hi,
I am driving my husband crazy and am hoping someone can help me identify this bug. It has a slit vertically down it's back(maybe wings?) which is hard to see in these photos. It is very small and brownish in color

I can't tell from your picture, but from your description if there is a slit down the body and there are wings then it would not be a bb. How large is the bug? If there is a slit and wings might be some kind of beetle. If you can, you can carefully remove the tape and see if there really are wings with a fine pin.

The "vertical slit down the back" is a characteristic of beetles. No BB has that characteristic.
If you find any bug with that it is guaranteed to not be a BB.

Thanks for your replies! We used the needle and it does have wings, thanks for the smart suggestion! I just have been creeped out because I saw some tiny clear bugs under our bed on a cloth box the other day. And I have found multiple of these "beetles" around our room. Are they trouble in any way, or should I just chill out as my husband suggests? Thanks....

I personally say you shouldn't chill out and let them just occupy your living space, but not get completly bent out trying to rid them from your home.
