We have bed bugs in my very tiny 1 bdr apt. It's pretty severe, I see them all the time. My fiance is very sensitive to the bites and is covered in red marks. My landlord had terminix come in. They sprayed part of the room, claimed to have treated the mattress, ignored the bed frame and gave no advice. We cleared the bedroom, threw out the frame, it was totally infested, bugs everywhere. I'm vacuming the room daily, and killing the bugs whenever I see them. We covered our mattress with one of those zip up allergy plastic deals I duct taped the zipper shut, and put another cover on that. Then we put the bed in the living room. It's a new mattress, otherwise we would just toss it, but we just bought it a few months ago.
Last night was fine, and now my fiance got bit again, i found 3 baby bed bugs on the bed.
We are moving in a few weeks, so terminix can do what they will here, but I need to know what to do with my stuff. Can they get in books, dvds, electronics, pictures??? I checked all the books and such from the bedroom and the shelves they were on, and didn't see any bugs or evidence of them.
I have all my clothes bagged, we washed and dried them. We're going to dry them on hot again before we bring them into the new apartment, but what about my furniture? I don't see them on anything in the living room, but I don't want to bring them into the new apartment.
Any advice?I just spent some time reading the forums. We already moved the mattress yesterday. Should I move it back into the bed room? I threw out the bed frame so it would be on the floor, if that matters
Also, the guy from terminix said to use contractor garbage bags, would the ziplock ones be better?
