Help ID this please [a: beetle larvae](6 posts)
not an expert, does not look like a bb to me.
maybe a carpet bealtle larvae?
I am sure somebody with more experinace will chime in soon.
thanks for the reply, unfortunately, pretty sure I have bed bugs. Will call for a PCO asap
Those aren't BBs. I'll usually add a caveat about not being an expert but after years of looking at mystery bugs, & years of infestation & re-infestation in my old home, I'm prepared to give you a copper-bottom guarantee that those aren't BBs. Pretty sure I do know what they are but being only "pretty sure" I'll leave definitive ID to the entos & specialist PCOs who post here.
Do you have any other reason to suspect BBs?
100% not bedbugs.
100% beetle larvae and most likely carpet beetles.
From the evidence in the pic and what you have described I would say bedbugs is a low probability and would advise to to proceed as if you have a carpet beetle issue which does not require the use of any insecticides. Information can be found at:
Hope that helps.

I concur with DC, our esteemed colleague from the UK, what you have are beetle larvae. Could be carpet beetle, varied carpet beetle, furniture beetle or similar.
Hope this helps ! paul b.
