I just moved into a new apt and found these two bugs while cleaning out a closet (one) and my bathroom (the other). They were dead, but being in two different parts of the apartment has me seriously worried! I took pictures with one flipped upside down. The light spot is on the back of the one turned the normal way. I'm praying these are NOT bed bugs! Can anyone identify them? Thanks for any help!!

I'm not the best IDer on the site, but I'm pretty sure that those aren't bed bugs. Chances are one of the expert ID folks will be along soon to confirm and tell you what they are (I think roach nymphs, but like I said, wait for the experts who are much better than me for confirmation.)

I would agree with buggy - definitely not bed bugs. I'm thinking cockroaches as well.

They're both German cockroach (Blattella germanica) nymphs.

Whew! Thanks very much everyone. Not excited about roaches (!) but I'll take them over bed bugs any day. I can go after roaches.
