(1 post)-
so we have bed bugs. i guess there have been rumors of people in my roomates room being bitten forever, but never any definative proof (maybe it was always psychopsematic). but about a month or six weeks ago she started getting bitten. after a week we realized it wasnt' spider bites and actually found a bug. over the course of the next two or so weeks she took actions that became more and more drastic. finally she threw out most of her stuff, got a new bed and bed frame, covered her room in a few types of sprays, a few types of powders and i boraxed the perimeter of my room. she slept on the couch for a week (a mistake i now know) and when she returned everythign was fine for about a week or so. now she's being bitten a lot. she finds blood splots on her sheets. i found one live bug a few weeks ago, and just recently have realized there are other signs in my room. maybe some excrement and a shell or two, but i haven't been bitten. an exterminator came and did a brief once over of everythign and made it seem like it wasn't too big a deal. i don't trust him. is that legit?
the reason i'm terrified is because we live in what could be described as a 'half way abandoned' house. it is in dire need of repair. gaping holes in walls and ceiling. the downstairs (below our rooms) is a space that has been used for storage of all sorts of clothing and people who have crashed down there think maybe they have been bitten, but no one is sure. after research on the web i feel like it will be a completely impossible task. i feel horrible and shitty and completely emotionally taxed. i can't even move out because i will just leave a problem behind, and possibly take it with me.
so here are my questions:
-if we just don't let anyone crash downstairs anymore and have an exterminator visit everyother week for a long time will it eventually go away?
-does anyoen have a good success story to tell me?
