I've read about these companies that offer a heated truck, like a giant packtite, for heat treating things like couches, books, antique furniture. I am in the Philadelphia area, and read about one servicing the Main Line area...

Has anyone here used one? It appeals to me because then, when my countdown is over, I could feel more secure by heat treating my couches, blanket chest, bookcases, etc etc. I am not capable of taking apart an antique couch enough to see if there is anything deep inside without ruining it, and I think, if done correctly, heat should safely kill any form of BBs, right? Of course it may be too expensive/ ineffective to be worth it, but it bears some looking into.

I heard Aardvark pest company might have one? Anyone else in the Philly/PA, NJ area?

Thanks for sharing any experiences/info you have on this option.

    Hi,

This system is designed by Insect Inferno.

Although I have never seen one operating I have seen the product and know the person behind it. They have great feedback from what I have heard and are really nice people. I don't think they offer much beyond a very local service themselves but if you contact them I am sure they can confirm who has a unit in your area.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks, David Cain.

This heat treatment idea appeals to me, I'm getting pretty uninspired by the idea of a 'magical chemical' or more super-expensive treatments...I'm starting to think we're going to have to learn to monitor, inspect, find, and eradicate early using natural remedies, common sense and education/knowledge, or this will never stop. It's just so darn hard without knowledge.

    ~grateful for help.

You are in the home of the converted on that one.

I do like the idea of treating through attention to detail and thermal like this but its only draw back is that it does not help in the long run if the problem is reintroduced although its a very clean way to get a rapid resolution when available and feasible.

Th e reality of bedbugs is that many tools are needed to get an ideal solution up and running and its hard to do completely without modest and sensible chemical use if its been around for a while.

Education to avoid and early detection when problems occur will become a part of modern life if things carry on this way.

Well said. Well said. Many tools, and the knowledge to use them.
