Having trouble identifying if it's Bedbugs or Not?
(3 posts)-
I'm sure there are many of you like me that are worried about bedbugs. If we could identify specimens, that would be great. One of the old timers on the board, might I add, an expert identifier, Spiderjg posted a link to a handheld microscope. (http://emcalscientific.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=98&products_id=210)
It shows the minute details of bugs so to an untrained eye like mine it's so much clearer thus eliminating stress of "it kind of looks like a bb.". It also takes pictures and videos so if you're still unsure, you can snap a pic of the suspect creature and upload it to bedbugger and have an expert Id it.Then bed bug blue came along and totally eliminated fecal spot worries. I periodically find dots on my sheets. Source unknown, but like many of you, that horrible question pops into your mind, "could it be? Oh no, is it??!!!". It's been such a relief now to be able to use the bed blue test to put my mind at ease. It's so easy. You just put a drop of the solution on the end of a QTip, lightly rub it on the suspect spot, and then rub the QTip on to the paper that come with the kit. If it turns blue, then it is a bed bug fecal stain. If not, you can breathe easier.
So, between the handheld microscope and bed bug blue I'm prepared to identify what is or what isn't. It has eliminated a lot of stress for me.
I just thought I'd share this.
