Have my bed bugs spread after treatment?
(1 post)-
So I had bed bugs in my old apartment. I moved in with my dad, first sending everything that I own to be professionally treated. Long story short, the company I sent my things too failed to eradicate them, and the bed bugs came here.
I sleep on an aero bed in the living room, while my dad sleeps in his bed in his bedroom. 2 weeks after my "clean" items were returned, I slept in my dads bed (he was away) and got bites. That day I had a dog come and confirm, and had a PCO come and spray the apartment with Suspend and Bedlam. The dog had confirmed a very small (between 1-5) infestation in my dad's bed, and in my bags of clean clothing (most of which were sealed). I rewashed all of clothes, the exterminator steamed my bags and shoes, and I washed my dad's clothes.
We were told the dry clean only stuff should be safe, as the closet was uninfested.
Anyway, last night, after sleeping in my aerobed, I woke up with 2 bed bug bites on my leg. This occured exactly one week after treatment. Is it possible for them to have spread even though the apartment was exterminated? did their disgusting little eggs hatch? I have a cat, could she have carried one to my bed? I am trying to keep her out of my dad's room, but he is terrible about cooperating. I basically have to follow him around and put all his stuff in plastic bags and wash it.
