We threw away our suitcases and need to get new ones.

The hardsided suitcases with clasps are hard to find - it seems like there are only a few Samsonite. THey are also really heavy.

Is a hardsided suitcase with a zipper *that* bad of an idea? There are some that are glossy and slick on the outside and weigh a lot less than the clasp ones.

Are they that likely to get through the zipper into the suitcase - especially if the sides are slick and shiny? I realize they can fit through zippers, but I thought they might not be that likely to try unless we had a sleeping human in there...

p.s. Also, does anyone have a list of suitcases that are hardsided and zipper free? It's not htat easy to find them. I kept looking at pictures online of suitcases I thought didn't have zippers..and then most of them did.
I seem only to find Samsonite Oyster and F'lite and Silhouette Hardside (really expensive!).
