Guess who's back...
(2 posts)-
Technically I (or they) never went away....
And so the saga continues. As of New Years we had our last treatment. 18 treatments in total since October. With NO [b][i][u]final inspection.*sigh*
We were excited to move, and were sure we would be bug free. Well the move didn't happen. Hubby couldn't transfer. I started school and things got put on the back burner.I'm still paranoid as ever, and I'm glad because of it. Within the past month I have spotted and killed two nymphs (one fed one not, one in my boy's room the other while feeding on me at 11 pm) and a mid size hanging out in the hallway.
I was about to threaten putting our rent in escrow when they finally came to fix our badly damaged bathroom and leaking toilet. It's been like that since we moved in two and a half years ago. They wouldn't replace or repair anything in here until we were declared bed bug free although I had reported it before we had them. That is another story in itself.SO...We decided it was time...we're throwing away all of it excluding our electronics and we're moving in two weeks. I've been fine tooth combing everything and putting it into storage. I've put in my notice to the apartment complex. They tried to finagle me about my 30 (vs 60) day notice until I brought up Ohio tenant laws.
I haven't decided if I should tell them about the bed bugs again. For the sake of my neighbors and future tenants of this apartment I would, but on the other hand, my neighbors are the soul reason why I had gotten infested. Yeah, the ones that I have to call the police on multiple times a month anywhere between 10 pm and 8 am. The one's who throw their weekend parties and use the tenant parking for their guests. The one's who throw their glass beer bottles and cigarette butts all over the ground and leave them there...yeah, those neighbors...
I mean seriously...who knows you have a problem and doesn't report it (using the fact that you don't speak english as an excuse? If you really wanted to report it you would find a way to translate), other than those breaking the lease with their illegal immigrant family living with them unbeknownced to the apartment management. I know it sounds harsh but it's the truth and I'm fed up with it (and their terrorizing children).
That was a mouthful...Although I am hopeful about this new place I have my reservations. On the application it specifically asks "have you ever or do you have bed bugs at your current residence?"
That is a question that I feel landlords should ask, but my question is will people really answer that honestly? I mean those without integrity, or those who are ashamed. Well I fessed up (this was before I knew we STILL had them) and told the truth. I asked them if they have had any problems. I was told that there have been two reported cases since last year (not bad for the size of this complex). Neither of the buildings were attached to ours. And I was assured that they have a great exterminator, he even told the management "all you have to do is put your stuff in a bag for thirty days"....GULP... 30 days? I'm weary...So here goes. Wish me luck. I'm sure I'll be back more often than not beings I feel like I'm becoming a midnight snack again. I've been bitten at least 8 times so far this month. I don't feel like it will ever end. I keep asking myself what did I do differently? What could I have done differently? I don't feel so emotional now, but I'm still paranoid, and still having nightmares. I think I'm too exhausted to be emotional anymore *LONG SIGH*

My fingers are crossed. You know its easy to carry these buggers with you. At lease you are armed with enough knowledge that if one travels along, you will know how to respond.
