    hello there,

i'm a bedbugger in the hasidic part of williamsburg, brooklyn -- and i have gone guerilla. after much frustration with my hasidic landlords and neighbors, who were very unsupportive about the bed bug issue and treatment, and ignored previous attempts to communicate, including letters and a flyer campaign, i have found my way of forcing the issue into the open. all with the help of fellow bedbugger cilecto!!

please behold our new year's gift to my neighbors:

it reads (for those of you who don't speak read yiddish!):

    Caution! Bedbugs!
The BBs wish you a happy new year!

the signs have been taken down numerous times since my hubby and i began posting them, just before Rosh Hashanah. we'll keep posting through this week. i am 100% certain it's not our building manager taking them down, as he never comes in to look at anything, but the owner's son, who actually lives in our building (and who was quite friendly before the BB situation, and now doesn't speak to us anymore. or rather, to my husband, since he never spoke to me to begin with).

ANYWAYS, we are relishing these posters. anywhere you can get a laugh, right?? much gratitude for cilecto!

in other news, after 8 weeks, four treatments, and a LOT of laundry and ziplocing and packtiting, it's been 11 days with no definitive bed bug bites. (a lot of mosquitos and anxiety-causing blemishes, but nothing like the clustered welts of august). feeling verrrry cautiously optimistic! and very knowledgeable about carpet beetles, spider beetles, and silverfish. who knew these critters even had names?

    l'shanah tovah, everyone.

Would love to see it but I think you need to change the photo's permissions in flickr so everyone can see it.

Aw, shucks. Credit also goes to EffeCi for his pan-European warning poster.

Hey, how about a follow-up along the lines of Sunday night into Monday's holiday Yom Kippur?
Bed bugs never fast, not even on Yom Kippur? or something like that?

Considering that BB feed only when they need to (and spend the rest of the time in silent contemplation) and can "go without" for months, they are kind of monastic in their existence...

Besides, miracles do happen, don't they?
    :)
