Has anyone heard of the brand "green gaia"? I was told by the feed store person that this is, in fact, 100% DE but she said something about them being unable to list it as "food grade" here in Canada, although it's safe for human consumption. It's not labelled "freshwater" or "food grade" (and frankly, doesn't have much of a label at all). Thoughts?

Hmmm, I called their 1-800 # as they are a Canadian company based in BC. The gentleman that answered stated it was food grade and is not labelled as such because they would have to apply with the CFIA, Canadian Food Inspection Agency. They are an organic fertilizer company. As long as their packaging does not state food grade, they apparently can get pass this requirement. Hmmm. Are you in a trusting mood?

Thanks for the response. Know of any more trustworthy brands here in Canada... and where to get them?

If on the shelf in Canada, trust the label and follow the instructions on the label explicitly. That said, stay away from "miraculous insecticide chalk" - it is on the shelf illegally in Canada and the US - only ever seen it for sale in Chinatown.
