Hi my husband and stayed in a bed and breakfast 2 weeks ago and a day later woke with itch welts. I had none. After about 5 days of terrible itching he saw a allergist who said he thought it was bed bugs. Now 2 weeks later I am starting to get bites. I am reading this forum and first think I understand is call a professionsal. Any suggestions? I am nervous about the chemicals with my 3 little girls. Do I have to worry?

Try Orkin, but make sure you get the right person there -- the guy who was in charge of my follow-up seriously screwed me over and has caused me more financial and emotional grief than I'd ever thought I'd go through (send me a PM if you want to know his name).

Welcome to the Denver chapter of the bedbugs club . . . unfortunately I'm sorry to welcome you to this club. The FAQs are extremely helpful, and many can offer advice. I wish you all the best!

Yea....sorry to have you in the club. But welcome, nevertheless.

Though Stamps didn't have the greatest experience with Orkin, I think I'd call them first too. They use more of a multi-prong approach, that if done correctly/well, seems like it has the best chance of success.

The company I used, and will not name, because I don't want to give them any more free advertising, used 3 chemicals the first treatment (one was Gentrol which is controversial), then they used only 1 chemical for the two follow-up treatments.

They used no dusts and did nothing with the electrical outlets/switches.

We were not pleased with the results. You can PM me for more details.

See the FAQs for info on PM.

    Good luck...
