As I write this it is Monday at approx 2:30PM. I was 100% fine on Friday only 2 days ago, but spent time in a park for a few hours on Friday where I noticed mosquitoes and actually remember swatting a few off of me. By Saturday, I was itching a bit, and noticed a few bites on my upper arms and shoulder area and figured this was from the mosquitoes since I had been wearing a short sleeve shirt. Well by Sunday afternoon (yesterday), I was covered in what looked like bites/a rash all over my body from the hips upwards. Even my face and scalp are affected. I have approx 25-30 marks on my face, and my front torso must have about 40-50, and my back is covered with at least 50 bites as well. I have detected about 3 "bites" on my scalp because they swelled a bit. I have nothing on my legs or feet. I am at work now and going to the doctor in a couple hours but I am terrified. The weird thing is, on Saturday night I remember being very sluggish and lethargic after coming home from a VERY stressful day..I remember my heart racing and being extremely worried Saturday night. I actually had to take an Advil because I thought I might be getting a cold or flu and even had shivers. In fact, I have been under more stress than usual due to a seriously ill relative. Also, last night (Sunday night), I woke up at around 1AM completely drenched in sweat, to where I had to completely change my PJs. Not sure if that means anything but I found it very odd. Now I came in to work and look awful...my boss told me to make a doctor appointment asap. I will check for BB as soon as I get home, but can someone get bitten this horribly in one night? i don't know if these symptoms could be stress related or what. I don't even really itch at all...but they will itch if I rub or initiate scratching which I have been trying not to do. I literally went from zero symptoms to covered from the waist up within 24-36 hours. I'm scared.

You might have been a non-reactor that started to react. You might be experiencing something else. The doctor should be able to give you symptom relief. If there's a cause other than insect bites or external irritant, you're on your way to relief and treatment.

Do inspect your home for BB. Read our FAQ to get a good introduction.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply. Went to the doctor and he said it might be a viral infection, and gave me a prescription for something and is doing blood work, etc. I also had a low grade fever which make the viral infection thing seem plausible. I came home and tore my bed apart- zero signs of bed bugs on pillow, pillow cases, sheets, blanket, mattress pad and mattress. If they're there, I can't see them at all. Even broke out the flashlight. All I found was lint here & there. But these 'bites' started to itch tonight (I dunno if that's psychological because they didn't itch prior to my doctor visit). Just looking at myself, I feel like these look just like mosquito/bug bites. I am so stressed out. These marks are all over my face and neck, in addition to my torso and back, so I don't even want to look in the mirror. I wasn't sure if it was possible to go from zero bites only 2 days ago, to being completely covered from my scalp to below my hip bone. I'm just scared and so sick about this

    Hi, Dana:

Just read your post...with the fever..and it happening so fast..it really sounds like a virus and then it got worse with the stress.

The following things make my sensitive skin worse: heat, night sweats (I'll wake up drenched and with what looks like hives), STRESS, STRESS, chemicals, etc.

You have a fever...get some rest...I hope you feel better soon. But, listen to your doctor vs. worrying about what we think...
