Free! past the 55 day mark! Yay Vikane!
(4 posts)-
Hi all,
I am thrilled to declare myself bedbug free for 3 months! (I meant to post after two, but I got busy.
How'd I do it?
1) I ran away (my LL wouldn't fight it seriously, nor would my neighbors)
2) I called BedBugsandBeyond who vikane gassed (or whatever the generic name is) a UHaul full of my stuff for $750 (plus I paid the cost of the UHaul rental).
3) I took only what I was sure would work with the gassing and ditched anything questionable.
4) I ditched everything I was wearing when packing the truck in a sealed bag in the laundromat bathroom and put on all fresh clothes from another sealed bag.I know it's suspect to post about specific PCOs, but when I was trying to find a way to save my new laptop and my grandma's heirloom furniture, I was practically in tears trying to find someone who would gas a container full of stuff. If it hadn't been for a tip from someone on this forum, I might not have found them. There may be others who do what they do, I don't know. But mine was a really good experience with them, so I feel I should share in case it helps others.
It feels really good to forget about BBs for awhile. They really f-ed me up psychologically, or at least the isolation did. I still have a nightmare now and then, but I'm hoping that will fade in a few more months.
Anyway, there is life after bedbugs. Don't give up hope!!!!!
A thousand times good luck to everyone! -
Wee-hoooo!!!
Welcome to your post-BB life and may it forever stay that way.

Congrats Goingaway!! I am so thrilled to hear that you are finally free from the bugs. And yes, I still have the occasional nightmare and still do the searching though not as intense as before. I did have a scare a couple weeks ago and have since stopped going through any clothes brought from the infested apartment and will tackle the rest of the laundry when I feel like it. It is alot more relaxing to go to sleep at night and not be afraid that the bugs are eating you alive. Here's to a bug free life!! Cheers!! (Knock on wood!!)
