Ok, I also have been dealing with cockroaches. Hardly seen any in days.weeks, But I went in the kitchen and this bug ran like crazy before I got close enough. Seemed roach behavior. It was black and small but I also know roaches can be small (babies) and black or dark. But damn, this one escaped and I think it escaped in my utensil drawer. I know it was to damn fast to even attempt to find it. I can't freak out like this! Is it common for BB to be on a kitchen shelf with lights on? Yes, i know that they can come out in the light. And my kitchen is not far from my bed. This is bad, I am forcing myself to eat as is, please let it be a roach. Never thought I would say that Roaches are quicker than BB. God what do I do, was treated 14 days ago, only the bed and chair was. I have to call again, what do I do with the kitchen utensils, food, etc...? Thanks!

Rosie better roaches then bb's right?

Let me tell you a secret Hon!

I had a very short lived problem with roaches, and what works it going to amaze you but I SWEAR it works:

FRESH BAY LEAFS, roaches are so repelled by these, you can even google it, (thats how I found out about it) it works Rosie!

Let me know, I was MOST amazed myself!

Blackheart thanks, I heard about that. But my fear is that it was a BB I can deal with roaches I think. But scared it was a BB that climbed into my utensils drawer and I don't know what to do thanks for the advice.

Rosie, probably not likely to see a bb in the kitchen, but best to tell your Super/Landlord and PCO Guy, just so you have some peace of mind!

Just know you aren't alone, I'm so alone right now, and my one son thinks I'm nutz for putting my purse in the fridge!

Seemed to fast for a bed bug in my experience in anycase. Yes, will tell, on the last legs of emptying things out. I dread this, when the PCO comes back they will throw my bed out, not to mention the stress of putting my cat on the balcony, he went through hell last time and yeah throwing the bed out apparently is city law for apartment dwellers and the bed I have is worn out so maybe that is why. Take care Blackheart

Rosie - throwing the bed out is city law for apartment dwellers? That's interesting. Can I ask what city? I've never heard of this.

Hey Rosie, Don't think I could be any consulation, but a least to make you smile a bit?

My parrot (Duckly is his name)has been on the balcony for the past three sprays, my God the bird is now so well behaved (he just really hates being out there all alone on the balcony, it's quite endearing!

I used to think you could only truly get attached to something like a cat or dog, but it's crazy how affectionate and sweet a bird is! (My mom died about 3 months ago, and I couldn't even get off of the couch I was so messed up) but I would open my eyes every time I woke up to see "Duckley" on my chest and making these distressed chirps, thats when I knew thing would be o.k. I think, NO matter what!

It is rear but in heavy infestations they can be found in odd places. It sounds that what you saw in your kitchen was a German cockroach in a nymphal stage. Keep in mind you would be running pretty fast if someone was trying to do away with you.
