Discovered the bugs yesterday and the PCO confirmed them today. We're being treated on Saturday. So far this forum has been incredibly helpful to calm my paranoia.....although the stress level in the house is pretty high right now!
What I'm wondering is has ANYONE gotten rid of them and how long did you live out of bags/live as a paranoid crazy person (totally describing myself here!) before you resumed a new-normal life? This could NOT have happened at a worse time and the thought of having to endure this for a year or more just devastates me! -
MOST people get rid of them and MOST do not take all that long. A few months is typical, with maybe a bit of time where you're not quite sure.
The exceptions are few and are often people in multi-unit buildings which are badly infested in multiple units and poorly managed.
Some in that situation also move, but this is not always an option -- and folks in that position have it hard.
I would say very, very few people deal with this for "a year or more."
Get the best help you can, do what you need to do, and you should get rid of this problem soon. Remember a lot of longtime forum participants are here long after bed bugs have gone away.
