I found this exoskeleton in my mattress about 32 hours after returning home after being exposed to bedbugs in a rental property for a week. My suitcase was on the floor for the entire week, and was in my bedroom for the first night after returning (before I found out I was exposed via bites. I am not sure if I was bitten the first night after returning as I may be slow to react, although I know for a fact I was bitten before returning). I suspect this is a carpet beetle larvae exoskeleton and had been there for some time, but just want to make sure!

    Thanks!

Yes, carpet beetle, definitely not bed bug related.
