Found Single Adult Bed Bug On Floor!

hello, I'm really freaked out! I got home last night and I found an alive adult unfed bedbug on its back on my floor. I searched my apartment for any others and found nothing. I have lived in that apartment for thee months and have had no bites, my mattress is a futon which is brand new three months ago. I searched it and found no signs.
I had just gotten home from a coffee shop and i had been sitting in a chair with cloth upholstery. I suspect the bug hitched a ride on me from the chair, god only knows how many people sit in the chair per day, some with bed bugs. I will go back to the coffee shop tonight to inspect the chair.
I was wondering, has it ever been reported that bedbugs walk from one apartment to another? I trapped this one in a plastic bag to get a better look at it, it is moving very slow, seems close to dying.

Bedbugs definitely can walk from one apartment to another, though it generally means they're hungry (someone went on vacation?) or their home apartment is already very crowded... or that someone nearby just treated for bedbugs, badly. (the bugs are resistant to 'bug-bombs' and the like, so neighbors in these cases often get the remaining population as the bugs flee the noxious rooms.)
The chair is also a possible vector, though.A bit less than half the population reacts to bedbug bites, so that's actually not a perfectly reliable detection method (unless you've been bitten before on vacation or something) but if you went looking for signs in the usual places (the FAQ is good here) and didn't see any, you may be OK. Keep checking when you change your sheets, and good luck!
