Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth? Please tell me this works.

   Does anyone have any experience with Diatomaceous Earth as a BB killer? I've heard it kills anything with an exoskeleton and if it works I just might be able to preserve the bit of sanity I have left.

   I've also heard not to use it, that it doesn't work, that it's not worth the mess, that it's a miracle, and that it's the only way to get rid of bedbugs. Perhaps someone has a straight-ish answer?
