I'm no expert, but foam mattresses (I just bought one to replace my old, buggy mattress, which was a basic Sealy spring one - r.i.p., old mattress) are just blocks of foam, with no nooks or seams for bedbugs to squeeze into and no hollow center to house a colony. I don't know how good bedbugs are at burrowing, but foam seems like it would be hard for most insects to dig and burrow into.

any other thoughts on this? my (brand new!! aargh!!) memory foam pillow is quarantined right now. i'm sleeping on a rolled up towel so that i can wash it.

i can't heat the memory foam pillow b/c i'm afraid it will melt.

laundromat? or should i just dig it out and use it sans pillow cover?

    any thoughts?
