I've been using a cigarette lighter to torch the bastards instead of squishing them. It's more effective and cleaner.

JimAyuh I ain't had much of that thar book lernin.
Of course one should be cautious but the cheapie disposable butane lighters have a bit of a flamethrower effect and kill the bugs almost immediately.
