    so does anyone here know if they need to feed to lay eggs?

    I think that is correct. The females do need to feed to lay eggs. That's my understanding anyway.

    yes, and the female can lay eggs for approx 3 weeks after she feeds...

    Females also have to mate in order to lay eggs. BTW, older research also reported that unfed bed bug females were able to produce eggs because the previous (5th instar) nymph had enough stored blood inside them to allow the just molted female to produce eggs and then mate. Just molted bed bugs are not necessarily empty and have totally digested the previous meal prior to shedding their exoskeleton. Of course, a female bed bug then requires additional feeding to continue producing eggs during her adult lifespan of many months.
