I've suspected bed bugs to be the culprits of unexplained itching over the past several weeks but even though I've searched far and wide I'm having a tough time finding hard evidence. I found this raised black dot near the edge of my sheet (on the side that was touching me). I was able to scrape the crud off and it left a matching dark stain underneath. I'm starting to worry I'm not going crazy and I have to start dealing with this for real.

Source: definitely not an expert, take what I say with a grain of salt

I never noticed anything raised when I saw fecal stains, nothing I could scrape off. They just smeared. Doesn't mean you're in the clear, just means I haven't heard of this occuring. Repeat, I am NOT an expert in any capacity whatsoever

It would probably serve you well to buy some climb-up interceptors or some other form of monitor. If you find and ID a live one, then it's time for war. If you don't find any, monitors can help you find some much-deserved peace. I truly hope this is something else and you aren't dealing with bed bugs. Best of luck and well wishes

    Hi,

Too homogeneous black to be faecal. The fine level of detail is just wrong.

    Hope that helps.
