fecal spots?

    Hi - we recently were exposed to bedbugs, and in checking my daughter's bed for signs they came home with us, found these spots - they are medium brown in color. I tried the smear test with a q-tip and saliva - they didn't smear on the fabric, but some came off on the q-tip. To be fair, we haven't done an inspection of this kind before - we got the bed frame second hand about 8 years ago, so these spots could have been made anytime in the last 20 years.

    They look like fecal spots, but really old (months, at least) and partially washed off....
